A substitute teacher is placed in schools when the regular classroom or specialist teacher is absent to ensure the learning of the children is continued. Schools are looking for experienced, competent teachers who are able to go into the classroom with strong behaviour and classroom management. The Staff Room’s teachers must be confident to deliver the planned lessons and keep the learning environment safe and welcoming for the children to have the best possible chance to succeed.
The Staff Room is a substitute teacher platform, connecting schools across the UAE with substitute teachers.
The Staff Room is looking for candidates who have had experience teaching in either a school or a university-style environment. This can include tutors, professors, assistant teachers, Special Educational Needs teachers, counselors, sports coaches and more. Candidates should have a valid UAE residency visa, teaching experience and a UAE attested degree (not necessarily a teaching degree).
This is dependant on the teacher’s availability and the schools that they are placed in. On average, schools in Dubai pay between 350-700 dirhams per day. The teachers receive their wages on a monthly basis. When a teacher is booked, the notification received has the details of the job, including the rate per day.
Teachers are able to decide how frequently they would like to work. They have time for their families, friends and more importantly themselves. There is no marking, no parent meetings and no paperwork attached to the teaching job. You turn up at the school, read the plans, deliver the lessons and leave at the end of the school day.Job Reference ID LK-644
