The time for romance is near – yes, it’s Valentine’s Day on February 14th. Whether you have known your beau for 10 years or 10 days, Valentine’s is the kind of special occasion when we all want to look our best. A beautiful smile is a great way to impress amidst all the flowers and chocolates. Our partners Drs Nicolas & Asp give us few ways we can easily and quickly improve the look of your smile.

Teeth Whitening

It’s very hard to avoid the kind of food and drink that stain your teeth – day to day, most people enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, and maybe a glass of red wine at night. You might also be a smoker, either now or in the past. Unfortunately, all these habits can all turn a naturally white smile into a grey one! Drs. Nicolas & Asp offers Zoom teeth whitening package, call us today for more details, that can be done in your lunch hour. First, a dental examination is performed to check the condition of your teeth (if you haven’t had a recent check-up). Then, the whitening gel is applied, with a special UV light being used to enhance the effect. Your gums are protected throughout. The process also includes top-up trays, which you can use by yourself at home later. Teeth whitening is a great way to add a subtle but healthy glow to your smile. With the take-home trays included, it also offers good value.

Enamel Shaping

Enamel shaping or Dental contouring is a quick and easy fix if you have a minor chip or uneven edge to a tooth. Here, your dentist simply uses a file to quickly and gently smooth down the offending edge. So, if you have a bad habit of using your teeth as a tool – to open packets and boxes – then it can wear down the edges or create a slight serrated effect. Enamel shaping just refines that edge so it can no longer be seen. This procedure can normally be done as part of a regular check-up.

Veneers

Beloved by Hollywood, veneers are the solution if you really want a flawless look. Available in both ceramic and composite, your dentist will need more than one appointment to fit these – but the end result is worth it. With both types of veneer, they will be colour-matched with your own teeth. Composite will cost less, though you will need to be more careful to avoid staining afterwards. The veneers will be tailor-made for you in Drs. Nicolas & Asp in-house dental lab and fitted by one of our Cosmetic Dentist. Your natural tooth surface will be roughened, and the veneer attached over the top. Both products will do a great job of hiding cracks, gaps, and any other kind of damage you’d rather hide.

Invisalign

Some of us are lucky enough to have a naturally straight smile. However, that’s not always the case. If you have crooked or overlapping teeth, Invisalign might be the answer. A grown-up version of traditional braces, Invisalign gains its name because it is invisible – rather than a set of braces attached to your teeth, it’s a series of transparent aligners that fit over your teeth. The mouldings are changes with every dentist visit, to gradually move your teeth into the desired position. While this isn’t a quick fix, it can take you well on the way to a permanently straight set of teeth in time for your next Valentine’s celebration.
